MY MANCHESTER UNITED ELEVEN AGAINST ASTON VILLA: PICTURES

Manchester United will be seeking to extend their winning run on Saturday when they visit and play Aston Villa. After the team’s emphatic victory over Liverpool in their last match, it will be interesting to see Louis Van Gaal starting XI, and the team’s formation. With players such as Angel Di Maria, Rafael and Falcao pushing for starts, also questions begging for answers include: where will Michael Carrick start for the team?, in midfield or defence, after his fine performance capped with a beautiful goal against Liverpool, will Wayne Rooney continue in his midfield role?, the team news against Villa is one Manchester United fans will be eagerly anticipating.
Redly United looks at a possible United starting eleven and formation against Villa.

De Gea: should start in goal for United, after his heroics in the game against Liverpool, and in many games before that. It may be fair to say he’s one of the few United players with a guaranteed starting shirt.
Valencia: though Rafael is back, Valencia’s recent performances in his new position may keep him (Rafael) out of the team for a while, as he’s gradually getting comfortable as the games come. He was magnificent in the game against Liverpool, with his well delivered, Rooney finding cross, providing the assist for United’s first goal. He should start ahead of Rafael based on his fine recent displays.
Jones: since his return from injury, he’s been decent and solid in defence. Expect him to start this game.
Evans: he’s not been rock solid and consistent recently, but should still get the nod ahead of McNair.
Carrick: it’s an away game, and united must be solid at the back. Van Gaal seems to prefer the five man defence, and Carrick has been doing a fantastic defensive job recently, expect him to start in defence for United and provide stability as usual.
Young: with Luke Shaw still missing with injury, and Rojo a doubt, Young should continue his fine run of games on the left side of the defence. He‘s always willing to help on the attack, and was instrumental to the team’s second goal against Liverpool in the last match.
Fellaini:  expect him to start in the midfield, with the dual purpose of providing cover tor the defence and helping out on the attack. He though must improve on his passing and ball distribution.
Mata: gradually getting into his prime, he’s been consistent over the last few games and also gets among the goals.
Rooney: after a fine controlling display against Liverpool from the midfield, I expect him to start from the midfield to accommodate either Falcao or Wilson in attack.
Van Persie: with four goals in his last four games, RVP seems to be hitting to form and should start against Villa.
Falcao:  Wilson was preferred in the last match because of his speed, but after a series of substitute appearances, the time may just be right for falcao to get his start.

Any surprise? Di Maria not starting, oh yes, he’s just back from injury and should get a substitute appearance in the game.

That’s my United starting eleven, what’s yours?
