Manchester United to pay 'whatever it takes' to sign Atletico Madrid star - Report

Manchester United are preparing to go all out to sign Atletico Madrid striker Antoine Griezmann.

The Frenchman has been in lethal form for the Madrid side this season.

He scored his 31st goal of the season in his club 2-1 loss to Bayern on Tuesday night. His goal was however vital as it pulled his team through into the Champions League finals for the second time in three years.

According to  El Confidencial via Sportwitness, United are prepared to meet the players' buy out clause which is a staggering €80m.

United have lacked a constant threat upfront, with the team relying so much on youngsters Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.

At the ripe age of 25, Griezmann looks a perfect match for United with the perfect blend of experience and physicality.

United will do well to sign the player before the European championship, as his fee may rise astronomically if he performs excellently well with the French team.

It would also be fascinating to see the French combination of Anthony Martial and Griezmann lead the lines for United.
