These two midfielders have been linked with a move to the
theatre of dreams. Both are young fantastic midfielders in their right. With
Michael Carrick injuries worries last season and age, the time is right for
united to get a replacement for the silent catalyst.
Either of Gundogan and Schneiderlin would be a perfect replacement
for the Englishman, plus any of them can form a formidable partner with Carrick
at the heart of the United midfield.
Gundogan was the first to be linked with United, after it
became clear he would be leaving Dortmund at the end of the season. Clubs like
Barcelona and Bayern Munich were also linked with the player. Earlier, report was that he favoured a move to
either Bayern or Barcelona. But over the last 24 hours, report emanating from German
newspaper Blid is that Bayern have pulled out of the race to sign the player.
And various reports are now favouring the player moving to Old Trafford.
Southampton and French midfielder Schneiderlin have always
been linked with a move to Arsenal. But reports over the last few days have
strongly linked the player to United. On Sunday France’s InfoSport tweeted that
Schneiderlin was close to signing for United. The report have been further strengthened by news from Holland
that Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is ready to move for
Dutch midfielder
Jordy Clasie as Schneiderlin’s replacement. With
united in the Champions league, and the player recently voicing out that he’ll love
to play in Europe elite’s competition, there’s a possibility of the move
happening.
While it is possible for United to sign both players, if any midfield signing is going to happen
this summer it’s likely going to be just one midfield player joining united.
Considering the fact that United have players like Blind, Herrera and Fellaini
who could come in and play in the defensive midfield.
