Manchester United transfer news and gossip round up: Benzema, Cech, Van Persie, Sterling updates

Karim Benzema could be on his way to Old Trafford, after the striker’s agent was seen holding talks with Manchester United vice chairman Ed Woodward  (Manchester Evening News)

New Madrid coach Rafa Benitez intends to use a 4-2-3-1 formation, which will see Cristiano Ronaldo play the number 9 role, previously played by Benzema,  and the United target will be used in a rotation policy. (AS)

Chelsea will allow goalkeeper Petr Cech leave this summer, opening the door for a move to United as he may be replacing out going United’s De Gea. (Daily Telegraph)
