The Manchester United manager has confirmed that he will still be in charge at United next season.
The Dutchman has been under immense pressure this season.
His United side were knocked out of the Champions League in the group stage, and knocked out of the Europa League by arch rivals Liverpool.
United also face missing out of Champions League next season.
His playing pattern and selections have also come under scrutiny and a lot of fans, and pundits want him out.
The FA Cup remains United's only hope of winning a silverware this season.
Van Gaal has however revealed that he wanted to sign a two year deal with the United, but the board urged him to put pen to a three year deal. Hence he would still be around next season.
"We have a process of three years. I wanted to sign for two years, they wanted three years – not me. I signed for three years, so next year you see me again." He said via Daily Star.
This may be the reason why the United board have been extremely patient with the Dutchman. Given the fact they they persuaded him to signing a three year deal.
This however shouldn't guarantee him being in charge next season.
