There may be light at the end of the tunnel for United in
their quest to sign Pedro. The Barcelona forward have been linked to United almost
all through this transfer window but the speculation became more intense after
the sale of Di Maria.
The Spaniard has reportedly been frustrated at the lack of
first team football, as the trio of Messi, Neymar and Suarez are the most preferred.
The winger was widely expected to start the UEFA super cup,
after Barcelona confirmed Neymar’s injury, but youngster Rafinha starts ahead
of the 28 year old forward.
Barcelona’s technical secretary have confirmed that the
winger has asked for a transfer.
‘‘Pedro asked us for a transfer’’ he said. ‘‘We are not
going to accept less than €30m for him. It’s not negotiable.’’
That may come as good news for United.
