Benzema ‘happy in Madrid’ as agent cools off United rumour

Benzema

Over the last few days news of the Real Madrid striker moving to United have intensified, with news that the striker’s agent held a meeting with United’s executive Vice Chairman Ed Woodward.
But the striker’s agent have dismissed reports that he held a meeting with any United official, and stated that the French man was happy at Madrid and will only leave if he’s told he’s surplus to requirement.

"I haven't met with any club in London. Not with United and not with anyone else.  We haven't held talks with anyone other than Real Madrid.  What is Karim going to do in Manchester? He's happy in Madrid. "He doesn't want to leave.  Benzema would only leave if Real Madrid told him he was surplus to requirements, because he isn't going to leave of his own accord.  Karim wants to see out his contract. He wants to retire at Real Madrid.’’ He told Marca.

The Frenchman has been linked to United on a number of occasions, since his stay at Lyon. The striker scored 22 goals for Madrid last season. He’s been reported that he may be part of the deal taking David De Gea to Madrid and has also been linked to Arsenal.

Manchester United target most likely to leave present club, advised to move to United

Schneiderlin
Southampton star midfielder Schneiderlin is “more likely to leave the club” according to club legend Le Tissier. The midfielder has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal in recent times, but over the last few days, news and rumor of a move to United have surfaced and intensified. Southampton held on to the midfielder last season, despite the mass exodus of their key players. But Le Tissier believes the saints may no longer be able to hold on to their star man. Le Tissier told Sky Sports “it’s probably more likely that he’ll leave than stay. The big question is whether a top four side meets his valuation."
The player recently voiced out his intention to play for a team playing in the Champions League. And with United almost qualifying, it remains to be seen if the move can happen.
Le Tissier also reckons that a united move would be beneficial to both the player and United. “Out of those sides, it is Manchester United that need him most as they require strengthening in that position. Schneiderlin is the sort of player they should be looking for, having proven over the last few seasons that he can mix it with the top sides. “
The legend also believes it’s a deal that may not cost United a fortune, “we paid about £1 million for him back in 2008 so with a couple of promotions and another decent transfer fee it certainly represents another good return.
“I think Southampton have always been fair with players and not stood in their way when bigger clubs have meet their valuation, which was shown last summer.”

Do you think United should go for and sign Schneiderlin?

Can this Liverpool star move to United?

One of the biggest transfer news in the last few hours is that Manchester United is planning a £25 million bid for Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling. The winger’s future has been in doubt over the past few weeks after he refused and stalled on signing a new contract with the Reds. With two years left on his current contract.
This has opened door for a lot of rumours and potential moves, with Real Madrid, Arsenal and Bayern Munich all linked to the player.
But the most recent of the rumors is that linking the player to arch rival Manchester United. It remains to be seen if the move is possible, looking at the fact that Manchester United parade a lot of attacking players, who will compete with Sterling if he finally moves to United. Players like Angel Di Maria, Mata, Herrera, Young and recently Fellaini are his likely competitors. United’s new Dutch signing Depay also is another player who will be hoping for a lot of playing time under fellow Dutch man Van Gaal, in his first season.
The rivalry between both clubs is one of the hottest in Europe and may come to play in this potential move, only few players have moved directly between the two sides while a little more have played for both teams, moving through another team. Michael Owen and Paul Ince are privileged to have played for both teams while Phill Chisnall in 1964 moved directly from United to Liverpool. Allenby Chilton was the last player to move from Liverpool to United in 1938.
Gabriel Heinze was another direct transfer that could have occurred between both sides, but the Fergie Vs Rafa Benitez row, couldn’t make the deal happen. And Sir Alex Ferguson maintained United’s supporters will never forgive him assisting the team building of their most significant rivals.
If the move materializes then, it will be once in a history move that will put Sterling under more spotlight.
