Must Read: Another media howler from Van Gaal

The Dutchman has never shy away from controversy during his short spell at United.

At the Manchester United dinner and award night, Van Gaal confirmed that he is an arrogant person, though he complimented himself by saying he is one of the best managers in world football.

No one will contest that. Having won the league in three different countries and being  one of the few managers to win the Champions League and the UEFA Cup and the UEFA Super Cup.

At United though, Van Gaal has struggled to replicate that form that made United fans happy after he was appointed manager.

His playing methods, selection and formations have always been questioned by the United fans and media. And he has not be helped by results either.

United have struggled for identity, form and consistency this season, and United are on the verge of missing out of Champions League football for the second time in three years.

Normally fans expected an improvement over what happened in his first season.

Maybe United challenging for the title or at least qualifying for the Champions League with much ease.

Unfortunately the team have retrogressed, and United will have to fight and hope other teams fight for them in their bid to make the top four.

Unacceptable by Manchester United's standard, Van Gaal should know.

Telling the fans expectations is too high, can be interpreted as telling them to lower their expectations, which would never happen.

United as a club and it's supporters are used to winning, being champions.

"We are in a period of transition. It is not so easy."

Yea the fans know, and that's why they are not asking for the Premier League title.

"We have to meet the expectations of the biggest club in the world." He added.

Yes, Van. its the biggest football club in the world, and expectations are very high.

As a manager you either fit into that expectations of the fans, or.....
