Brazilian legend Ronaldo Delima has hailed the Manchester United captain as an amazing player. Ronaldo was at Wembley when Manchester United defeated Everton in the FA Cup semifinals.
"He's amazing as a person. I have met him before — and as a player. He's an icon for England.
"He was playing a little bit behind the striker in midfield in that game (against Everton). He was very good. He's a worker." He told the Sun.
Ronaldo has also backed Rooney to start for England in the upcoming European Championship.
Rooney's role in the team is under threat with the emergence of strikers like Jamie Vardy and Harry Keane.
The three times World Footballer of the Year however thinks Rooney can still give great performances for the national team.
"I'm sure that he will play. He's the captain. He can still give England his best performance." He added.
