Manchester United planning sensational Benzema swap

Benzema
Manchester United may have completely lost hope on keeping goalkeeper David De Gea from moving to Real Madrid, but are determined to get the best out of the deal.
With United struggling for goals, for the most of last season, and the return of striker Falcao back to Monaco, getting a striker seems a top priority for United boss Van Gaal.  Last season United scored just 62 goals - the team’s second lowest in the premier league history.
With De Dea wanting a move to the Spanish capital, and Real Madrid also wanting him to replace legend Casillas as soon as possible, United are trying to involve Benzema in the deal.
With Wayne Rooney’s starting position not yet certain and Van Persie gradually passing his prime, Benzema seems a good deal for united.
United are also preparing a separate deal to bring the Frenchman to Old Trafford if they fail in the swap deal with De Gea.

United fans: Morgan Schneiderlin or Ilkay Gundogan

These two midfielders have been linked with a move to the theatre of dreams. Both are young fantastic midfielders in their right. With Michael Carrick injuries worries last season and age, the time is right for united to get a replacement for the silent catalyst.
Either of Gundogan and Schneiderlin would be a perfect replacement for the Englishman, plus any of them can form a formidable partner with Carrick at the heart of the United midfield.
Gundogan was the first to be linked with United, after it became clear he would be leaving Dortmund at the end of the season. Clubs like Barcelona and Bayern Munich were also linked with the player.  Earlier, report was that he favoured a move to either Bayern or Barcelona. But over the last 24 hours, report emanating from German newspaper Blid is that Bayern have pulled out of the race to sign the player. And various reports are now favouring the player moving to Old Trafford.
Southampton and French midfielder Schneiderlin have always been linked with a move to Arsenal. But reports over the last few days have strongly linked the player to United. On Sunday France’s InfoSport tweeted that Schneiderlin was close to signing for United. The report have  been further strengthened by news from Holland that Southampton manager Ronald Koeman is ready to move for

What if you were Woodward?

Ed Woodward

It’s the transfer period, and a lot of buying, selling and movement of players from one club to another is expected. But also with this movement come a lot of gossips, news and rumours. That’s what makes the off season worth it though.
At at the centre of all these are the players, the coaches, the agents, and the director(s). These are the few that dictates what happens.
But the fans are also a voice that can never be ignored.  Each of them with their own perspective of who and whom the club should sign.  The fans at times dictate which coach a team should hire, but most importantly when the coach should be fired. Blame them? No. They pay to watch the team every week.
For Manchester United, it’s a period when the fans expect an influx of players, especially after the not too convincing displays of some players last season. One player who is on his way to Old Trafford is Depay, and that to the delight of many fans. And the only men who can confirm if there will be more transfer activities this summer are Van Gaal and Ed Woodward. Van Gaal is on holiday, meaning a lot rest on the desk of Woodwarf. Manchester United have been linked to a host of players.
Now Redly United is giving you a fantasy office and a fantasy blank check.
Who and who will you sign if you are Ed Woodward and Van Gaal has given you the permission to sign any player of your choice?

NOTE:
You can only sign one player in one position.
You are not permitted to sign more than three players.

Manchester United pre-season fixtures in full

The 2014/2015 season has come and gone. For Manchester United fans, it was a season of many highs and lows. But the team got its ultimate target: a Champions league spot, even though the team will have to get into the competition through the qualifiers.
Last season, United’s preseason went on fine, with the team winning most of its games but the team couldn’t translate that form into the season as fast as they would. With inconsistent displays and results being the team’s hallmark at the beginning of the season.
The pre-season is a tour of America where the team will face Club America first before squaring up against San Jose Earthquakes.
The team will then end the pre-season with mouth-watering ties against this season Champions finalist Barcelona at Levi’s stadium in San Francisco and French champions Paris Saint Germain at Soldier Field in Chicago.
Last year United had their pre-season in America, where it played Real Madrid in front of the biggest ever crowd for a football game in the country, when about 109,000 watched the game in Ann Arbor’s  big house stadium. The team also won the International Champions Cup on that tour defeating Liverpool  3 – 1 in the finals.

Manchester United’s pre-season fixtures at a glance:
July 17: Manchester United Vs Club America
July 21: Manchester United Vs San Jose Earthquakes
July 25: Manchester United Vs Barcelona
July 29: Manchester United Vs Paris Saint Germain.

Manchester United 0 Southampton 1 Five things we learnt from the game

Manchester United fantastic home form this season has been tainted by a superb Southampton performance. A 69th minute strike from Tadic was all Southampton needed to defeat United - a game the Saints scored with their first short on target.
It was a shambolic performance from united going forward, a game in which the team lacked the cutting edge, final pass and creativity to breakdown a solid Southampton defence.
Redly United looks at the game and bring out five talking points.
1.  Blind’s versatility; United’s advantage: it was great sing the Dutch midfielder back in the tem after his long absence due to injury. On his return however, he didn’t start in his favourite midfield position and had to start in the defence.  The left side of the defence in place of  Evans. It was a brilliant return for Blind, who did almost everything perfectly in the match.  He was neat, tidy, getting into the tackles and duels, putting in the crosses, picking up the right passes. It was a confidence performance from the Dutchman, and he was much better than Evans in that position.

My Manchester United XI to face Southampton: Pictures

Manchester United will be hoping to continue their fantastic home form when the team host Southampton on Sunday. As the team will be aiming for a sixth successive home win.
Ashley Young is the only player missing from training this week as Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia, Marouane Fellaini, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind and Rafael have all trained this week and might start or make the bench.
Van Gaal will be looking for stability in defence and will almost start with a five man defence. For this match the wing backs look highly unpredictable, but for stability, I’ll go for Luke Shaw on the left back and Valencia on the right back. Rafael is back in training, but it may not be too good to rush him back into action less than a week after his operation. Evans, Smalling and Jones complete my backline.
Blind, Fellaini and Herrera are back. Herrera would be pushing for a start after his fantastic goal in the F. A cup victory, but I expect Carrick to get the nod ahead of the trio, with Herrera most likely making another substitute appearance. Rooney would most likely continue in the advance midfield role, as I expect Angel Di Maria to step in for Juan Mata, who’s been great for United recently, but Di Maria’s pace and speed may give him the edge.
Robin Van Persie and Falcao for me would lead the lines for United.
That’s my starting XI, what’s yours.
