Van Gaal denies striker hunt


United may not be signing a striker this transfer window, after manager Van Gaal admits he doesn’t know if he’ll sign a striker.
It was generally believed that Van Gaal was preparing a surprise striker signing and he Dutch man was quoted as saying the signing would be a surprise one and not the one popularly written about in the media.
But after United’s 3 – 1 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes on the tour of USA, Van Gaal has denied saying that. In his words ‘‘I don’t know I want to buy a striker. I have read in the media the striker is the surprise. No that’s not what I said.’’

The transfer mistake Van Gaal must not make again

Manchester United seem to be enjoying a perfect transfer window, with the club making the capture of four important players to fill into key positions where the team struggled last season. Though it remains to be seen if these signings would fit in perfectly and make the United team challenge for the title in the coming season.
Last season was Van Gaal’s first in England and the Dutchman attained United’s minimum goal of a top four finish – even though the team at times lacked stability that had always been the hallmark of the Old Trafford giant.

Goodison Park would be divided when current Manchester United captain and former Everton striker Wayne Rooney plays in an Everton shirt on August 2 In Duncan Ferguson’s testimonial match.
